A rare looped edited instrumental taken from a cut off of DMX’s sophomore album, “Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood” album, which was released on December 22nd, 1998. The alternate title for the song can be: “Used To Be My Dog” (as Jadakiss says on the hook). The album was released on December 22, 1998, by Def Jam Recordings Music Group Inc. and Ruff Ryders, a little more than seven months after his debut album, “It's Dark and Hell Is Hot”, which was released on May 19th, 1998. This album entered the charts at number 1 (and stayed there for three consecutive weeks) with over 670,000 units shipped in the first week. The album eventually went 3× platinum in the US. This record was one of the first records in the lyrical underground war between Ja Rule and DMX. This was produced by Irv Gotti, who also had confirmed was indeed Ja Rule diss in an interview with Noreaga on Drink Champs, back in 2017. The song features Styles P for the second verse and Jadakiss on the hook/chorus. RIP to DMX, who died at the age of 50 on April 9th, 2021.
