How best to choose what course to study at university to pursue your interests? For once we won't hear from a student who is already at Cambridge but from one who still has to apply. Rishabh Sharma approached me for advice about how best to go about studying bioinformatics at University. I asked a domain expert to join us on a video call, my colleague Pietro Liò, Professor of Bioinformatics in my department, and they both kindly agreed to let me publish the video of our conversation as part of this ongoing outreach series targeted at potential university applicants. This is a reverse Q&A, in that Pietro and I are the ones answering the student's question, contrary to most other videos in this series in which I am conducting the interview. The format is pretty open-ended: some of Rishabh's question may also be your own; and if you stay till the end you'll hopefully find useful advice for all applicants, not just those interested in bioinformatics. I strongly encourage you to subscribe, to be notified about the other videos in this ongoing series about getting into Cambridge, for which I am recording a variety of interviews with interesting computer scientists at all levels: • Getting into Cambridge to do Computer Science University of Cambridge Virtual Open Days, 13-26 September 2021 https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.a...
