Ice, Salt & Sound • A Racing Mind & 10 Minutes of Sound Healing ⸻ Welcome to Sip & Sound with Shan. Every Tuesday morning I begin the day with a simple ritual. A few minutes sharing what’s in my cup, what I’m grateful for, and whatever feels present on my heart, followed by about ten minutes of sound bowls, chimes, and gentle sound healing. Today’s episode began with one of those 4 a.m. wake ups where the mind decides it has a full agenda before the sun is even up. During our morning chat I shared a few little things from life right now. What was in my cup, of course, and something new I learned from my naturopath about not shocking the nervous system first thing in the morning with ice cold drinks. Apparently my usual ice in my protein drink might not be the best way to begin the day. So we’re experimenting. Room temperature water with lemon and a little salt. Still figuring out what kind of salt, because clearly I’m learning as I go. We also talked about the time change here in BC becoming permanent and how these little shifts can affect our bodies more than we sometimes realize. And then we did what we always do. Ten minutes of sound bowls, chimes, and whatever instruments wanted to come through this morning. Truthfully, the sound was as much for my racing mind as it was for anyone listening.
