I recently played my first ever (!!!) club set here at home in Toronto. The venue was a library-inspired speakeasy with a no-phones policy. You find it through an alley, climb some scaffolding, and walk through a door hidden in a bookshelf. Once inside, it's all about the music and it's kind of perfect! I was the opener the night, which meant starting to an empty room and slowly building the dancefloor from scratch (very satisfying by the way). By the end, the room was moving, I was having so much fun, and I knew I wanted to do a lot more of this. Perks of opening: you finish early enough to actually enjoy the party. I stayed for incredible sets from Dilorenzo and Tsenami, two standout Toronto DJs who kept the energy high all night.
