Delhi: On three arrested on charges of child trafficking, DCP Dwarka Ankit Singh says, "Dwarka Special staff in-charge Inspector Vishvender received information that some people were involved in trafficking on newborn babies. We immediately took action and arrested three people and recovered a 4-5 day-old baby. The baby's parents were traced, and we found that they belong to a very rural area in Rajasthan. One of the arrested accused, Anjali, has previous charges of human trafficking in 2014 as well. Yasmin, another accused, would work as a carrier, and another accused would further sell these babies. On interrogation, we found that more than 10 babies had been trafficked. Our priority now is to arrest all the others involved and bust this nexus... The recovered baby's parents gave away their newborn in return for money since they belong to a very poor background... There are many middlemen involved..."
