Host Sheryl McCarthy welcomes André Aciman, the author of the new novel “Find Me”, a follow-up to “Call Me By Your Name”. Aciman writes about sudden, all-encompassing love which, once it is lost, haunts the rest of one’s life. His previous novel, “Call Me By Your Name,” is about the passionate affair between 17 year-old Elio and Oliver, the 24 year-old American graduate student who comes to live with Elio’s family in Italy one summer, and it’s familiar to many of us partly because it was also made into a successful movie. In “Find Me,” André Aciman, Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at the CUNY Graduate Center, picks up on these characters lives 20 years later. In the interview, he talks about his new book, and how it is not a “sequel” but was inspired by “Call Me By Your Name”. Also learn from this talented professor how he teaches literature and writing to his students.
