Simeon is deeply closeted, carrying the fear of being discovered in a country where sodomy remains illegal and same-sex love is socially stigmatized. The two have a one-night connection, but it isn’t meant to go beyond that — or so they think. Fate intervenes when George later visits the kapana stand to buy meat and finds it’s run by Simeon. Despite Simeon’s fear of exposure, George persists, and their relationship blossoms, bringing joy and tenderness alongside tension and vulnerability. Yet as love grows, both men carry secrets. George is living with HIV, grappling with his own fears and the weight of disclosure. Simeon wrestles with his identity, with the danger of being outed, and with societal expectations. The film explores how they negotiate intimacy, trust, shame, and courage in a society where being openly gay is met with legal and social peril.
