The situation leaves consumers high and dry, again, by an industry with a corrupt past wrought with fraud and price fixing. The memory industry is primarily comprised of Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, and with only 3 companies controlling effectively all relevant memory supply, once unspoken gentleman's agreements have now become simple public statements that could signal to "competitors" what the next move is.
