Estes Big Daddy nose cone modification for long motors

As the title says, this is how I modified my two Estes Big Daddy nose cones for longer motors. Both are upgraded with plywood fins and 29mm and 38mm MMT's. I used a LOC Precision 3" thin wall coupler that is split, sectioned, and glued back together so it has a tight slip fit into the NC shoulder. I cut off the slanted part of the NC shoulder to access the inside of the NC. I use a LOC Precision 1/4" plywood bulkhead that has its OD turned down on a drill and tapered so it fits nicely inside the NC. I then bond a 1/4-20 nut to the top of the bulkhead to screw in an eyebolt and also to attach washers to add NC weight if the need to balance the CG is required. Though, the bulkhead and 1/4-20 nut and eye add a bit of forward weight and should rarely need balancing for longer motors.
