U.S. Vice President JD Vance attended a solemn dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base as the remains of a fallen American soldier returned home. The U.S. Department of Defense identified the service member as Benjamin Pennington, a 26-year-old soldier from Kentucky who died after sustaining injuries during an attack on U.S. forces at Prince Sultan Air Base. Senior officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, joined the ceremony, where soldiers and officials saluted as the transfer case carrying the remains was moved from the aircraft.
