The Morrison Ranch nightmare began in September 1898 — a lycanthrope terror that struck during every new moon across sixty-three horrifying days in Powder River County, Montana. This historical horror account follows eleven ranch hands as lycanthrope attacks during new moon darkness drove them from the Morrison Ranch. New moon after new moon, the lycanthrope returned — circling carcasses, testing fences, coordinating with others in the dark timber. The Morrison Ranch nightmare was not random. It was scheduled. Lycanthrope attacks during new moon periods proved far more terrifying than full moon folklore suggests. The new moon — total darkness — gave the lycanthrope every advantage. The Morrison Ranch nightmare documented these attacks across three new moon cycles: September, October, and November of 1898. Each new moon brought fresh lycanthrope activity along the Morrison Ranch perimeter. Thomas Prewitt's log recorded every new moon attack at the Morrison Ranch. Eleven people arrived. By the final new moon nightmare, only nine walked away from the Morrison Ranch alive. The lycanthrope remained in the timber. The Morrison Ranch never successfully operated again after 1898. This is historical horror at its most grounded — a firsthand account of lycanthrope attacks during new moon darkness on the Morrison Ranch, preserved for over forty years before being written down.
