http://www.redferret.net/?p=37617. Inspired by other YouTube attempts (e.g • How to make a DIY DSLR Camera Slider Under $8 ) we've come up with an ultra-smooth, ultra cheap camera slider which you can make for around $10/£10 and which we think gives pretty good results. Well let's put it this way, when the alternative is spending around $200 - $300, we like our DIY version a lot. Parts List: 1. One 1.22 meter chrome tube (cut in half with hacksaw) - http://www.selcobw.com (£2.70) 2. Three electrical junction boxes - http://tinyurl.com/o93v9g4 - (£2.60) 3. PTFE Thread Tape - eBay - http://tinyurl.com/pm4bsqc - (£1.00) 4. Four Hose Clamps - eBay - http://tinyurl.com/np5of6u - (£1.00) 5. Tripod Mount Screw - eBay - http://tinyurl.com/pho8x5h - (£1.50) 5. Velcro Strips - (pennies) 6. Super Glue - (pennies) 7. Car wax (or other suitable wax) - (£?) We'd like to experiment with something to attach it to a tripod with something like this - http://tinyurl.com/okdvcaz - but we haven't seen anything suitable yet. We'll keep looking. If you see anything let us know.
