The right bullet for the job. I've been hunting exclusively with the Barnes line of ammo, using the TAC TX and TTSX bullet, for going on 10 years. I have been extremely impressed with its performance on deer sized animals, regardless of caliber. Prior to that, I hunted with and tested about every other common hunting bullet available and while some preformed better than others, none matched the Barnes. Bullet selection is key and often overlooked by the average hunter in favor of selecting the "perfect caliber". Understanding what the bullet does and doesn't do when it impacts a fleshy target and the expansion threshold of your round can make a huge difference and is one of many reasons some calibers get a bad reputation with hunters and results in lost and wounded animals. In reality, it has little to nothing to do with caliber selection and more with poor bullet selection combined with less than ideal shot placement. Thanks for watching.
