This overproduction accelerates the body's metabolic processes, resulting in symptoms such as weight loss, heat intolerance, increased appetite, and excessive sweating. Patients may also experience tachycardia, palpitations, anxiety, tremors, and muscle weakness. The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder where antibodies stimulate the thyroid gland. Other causes include toxic multinodular goiter, thyroiditis, and excessive intake of thyroid hormone. Diagnosis is typically confirmed by elevated levels of free T4 and T3, along with suppressed thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in the blood. Management of hyperthyroidism includes antithyroid medications, radioactive iodine therapy, and in some cases, thyroidectomy. Understanding the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of hyperthyroidism is crucial for effective diagnosis and treatment, improving patient outcomes. #Hyperthyroidism #ThyroidHealth #Endocrinology #FMGE #NEETPG #USMLE #MedicalStudents #ThyroidGland #GravesDisease #Metabolism #MedEd #StudyMedicine #HealthScience #MedicalExams #FutureDoctors #ThyroidDisorders #LearnMedicine #Hormones #EndocrineSystemom/clinical.learning
