⏰SUBSCRIBE⏰ to our channel / @brandnewmemories If you have been on this channel for a while, you will know we already did some MSC cruises. We usually selected one based on the itinerary that interested us the most. Doing so, we always ended up with the Fantasia class of ships. We really enjoy this type of ship. Not too big and not too small. This time, we decided to change it up. So, instead of the itinerary, we chose the ship first. MSC World Europa is one of MSC's newest ships and also the largest one. The itinerary was the classic Mediterranean route. We embarked in Civitavecchia and then went to Messina, Malta, Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa and back to Civitavecchia. Our flight landed in Rome really early. Luckily, we also booked the transfer. So at 9 o'clock, a bus picked us up, and in around 1 hour, we were in Civitavecchia at the port. Maybe it was because we were early, but we never had such an easy and pleasant check-in. In less than 15 minutes, we were inside the ship. This could only mean one thing: let's get this vacation get started 🥳 Messina was the only port we had never been to. MSC docked right in the city centre, this made strolling around so much easier. To be sincere, my priority in Messina was getting delicious Arancini. For the best, we went to Rosticceria F.lli Famulari. They truly are superb. On our way back, we just walked around various streets. I must say Messina is a lovely town. Malta was our favourite stop on our previous cruise here. And we still think it's such a good choice. We left our big ship and took a little boot to get to the three cities. The boot let us off at Vittoriosa, where we wandered around the oldest city of the three. After that, we also walked around Cospicua. This area is less touristy than La Valletta, and it was actually peaceful. Before heading back to our cruise, we had to revisit La Valletta as well. It was so busy here, but it remains a beautiful place. Did you know you can book an excursion to visit the cruise's behind-the-scenes? If you have the opportunity, we highly recommend this one. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to film anything here. We saw the control room, the bridge, the theatre and dressing rooms, the laundry, the fridges and the employees 'highway', and the kitchens. The last place we visited was the teppanyaki restaurant for another explanation and tasting 😋. We dedicated our stop in Barcelona to visiting two art museums. The first we visited was the Picasso Museum. The second was the Moco, a museum of modern and contemporary art. The following two ports were Marseille and Genoa. The weather wasn't great, so we decided to stay on board and enjoy the pools, the bars and everything the ship had to offer. After a week on this huge ship, what do we think about her? It is a beautiful, modern ship. But the seats in most bars were really uncomfortable. We enjoyed all the entertainment there was, there is so much to do for all ages. But we missed our old trusted Fantasia class. Thanks for reading, and if you would like to see more, subscribe to our channel.
