Valentine’s Day Special Episode 💖 | A Journey, A Friendship & A Magical Waterfall This Valentine’s Day turned into an unforgettable travel story as I journeyed from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai by bus, soaking in the scenic roads of Northern Thailand. During my stay at a hostel in Chiang Mai, I met Kristine, a traveler from Sweden, and what started as a casual conversation soon turned into an exciting travel plan. Together, we decided to explore one of Thailand’s most unique natural wonders — Bua Thong Sticky Waterfall, famously known as the Sticky Waterfall. Located about 60 km from Chiang Mai, this waterfall is truly special because of its limestone-rich surface that provides natural grip, allowing visitors to walk and climb straight up the cascading water without slipping. The water flows from a mineral spring called Nam Phu Chet Si, and the high calcium carbonate content prevents algae from forming, keeping the rocks rough and non-slippery. Surrounded by lush greenery, fresh air, and the calming sound of flowing water, the place feels peaceful, adventurous, and almost surreal. Spending Valentine’s Day here made the experience even more special — a perfect mix of travel, friendship, nature, and spontaneous moments. From climbing waterfalls barefoot to sharing laughs and travel stories, the day was nothing short of awesome and mesmerizing.
