In this video, I take you through the process of swapping in a new S85 V10 engine into my BMW M5 E60 and removing the primary catalytic converters for improved reliability and performance. 🔧 What you’ll see in this video: Overview of the new engine with ignition coils, injectors, throttle bodies, and ionic sensors Separating the gearbox from the old engine and preparing the flywheel & clutch for transfer Removing the exhaust headers and catalytic converters Step-by-step gutting of the cats (including drilling process) Installing my old oil pan with dual drains onto the new engine First startup of the new engine — now with no primary catalytic converters 💡 Why delete the cats? Less heat, freer exhaust flow, and better engine reliability for the long-term life of the S85. ⚠️ Check engine light? Yep, it came on. I’ll be testing an O2 sensor extender to see if it fools the ECU. Stay tuned! If you’re into BMW builds, E60 M5 projects, engine swaps, or exhaust mods, this video is for you. 👉 Don’t forget to subscribe for updates, including what happens next with the check engine light fix!
