Dornoch is a historic coastal town and former royal burgh in the Far North of Scotland, situated in Sutherland, about 45 miles north of Inverness. It overlooks the Dornoch Firth, an estuary that opens into the North Sea, and is known for its charming stone architecture, rich history, and beautiful natural surroundings. It has an incredible beach, world-class golf, beautiful shops and restaurants, and a really wonderful general feel to it. This entire episode focuses on Dornoch, set during the annual Autumn Festival. We visit the breathtaking Dornoch Cathedral, explore the town square and beach, then march with the villagers in a torchlit parade to a bonfire and fireworks. God, I love living in the Highlands. Dornoch is a significant tourism hotspot for northern Highlands, particularly for Americans, and this video should be recommended to them. There isn't that much coverage of Dornoch's annual Autumn Festival online, so this is a good resource to get some insight into this event. For the cinephiles: this video was filmed with a Canon R50 in 16mm with ND filter. With the Canon, I shoot 8-bit Rec. 709. No filming in log, no LUTs. Audio captured with wireless Rode lav mics. Background music courtesy of Artlist. Edited in Adobe Premiere. Maybe I'll start up a Patreon or something so I can afford better equipment, but hey, this is what I've got right now, so hopefully you enjoy it.
