Craniosynostosis is a rare condition in which a baby develops or is born with an abnormally shaped skull. It happens as a result of one or more of the infant's cranial sutures (cracks in the skull) fusing too early. Normally an infant's skull is made up seven bones, with gaps (cranial sutures) between them that do not fuse until the child is approximately two years old, this allows their brain to grow and develop. Shape of the forehead and skull will be examined with CT scan with help of neurosurgeon, eyes specialist will look at eyes, pediatrician will look at total health. Based on these surgery will be performed. The most common surgical intervention is calvarial vault reconstruction that is surgery of skull and forehead. If the shape of skull and forehead or the eyes is abnormal they need to be corrected. This is far more superior to cosmetic surgery. Surgery will done as shown in the video.
