Hello, U-Turn family! We are excited to welcome you to another powerful episode of the U-Turn Conversation. This week, we are hosting a special guest who has captured our attention with his inspiring work on the ground in South Sudan. Kuol Arou Kuol has empowered some women through microfinance, helping them start small businesses, gain financial independence, and uplift their families and communities. His dedication to supporting women’s economic growth is exactly the kind of impact we love to highlight. Kuol Arou Kuol is a South Sudanese social activist dedicated to community empowerment, peacebuilding, and humanitarian action. He previously served as the coordinator for South Sudanese civil society organizations in Uganda, Advocacy Officer at Refugee-led Organizations Network in Uganda (RELON), and partnership officer at Last Mile Climate. Kuol has been instrumental in founding several initiatives focused on women, youth, and rural development. He is a co-founder of SPEAK, a peacebuilding organization supporting refugees in Uganda, and the founder of Action for Rural Transformation and Empowerment (ARTE), which works to reduce poverty in rural South Sudan by promoting women’s economic empowerment through micro-enterprise support. Driven by a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable communities, he is currently pursuing a Joint Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Coordination: Health and Displacement under the EU-funded Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, studying in Portugal and Norway. Join us as we celebrate real action, real impact, and real transformation. The U-Turn : Turning Voices Into Impact #womenempowerment #microfinance
