The last time we saw Casper the White Lion was on Saturday, 18 October 2025, along the S126, where he and his sick brother Mfowethu were feeding on a dead elephant carcass. During that sighting, two rival territorial males arrived and chased Casper and Mfowethu off their territory. Ten days later, on 28 October 2025, Casper was seen again on the S126—this time in the company of a young lioness from the Sweni Pride. The two were lying close to each other, but the lioness kept growling at Casper, clearly unhappy with his presence. After a while, Casper fell asleep, and the lioness used the opportunity to sneak away from the intruding male. When Casper woke up, he realised she was gone. He searched for her, sniffing around and contact-calling, but she was nowhere to be found. Eventually, a tired and disappointed Casper lay down to rest under a small tree, seemingly accepting that he had been “dumped”. Poor Casper just seemed to be seeking some company and doesn’t enjoy being alone. Interestingly, around the same time, his brother Mfowethu was spotted on the H7 near Satara, roughly ten kilometres from where Casper had been trying to befriend the young lioness.
