Today I am reviewing the student grade series watercolor from Zen Art. There are 4 pallets available in this line called "aspiring artist" and I have the Allegro set. You can find these and other Zen art watercolors here: https://amzn.to/3zwtI7V *This video is not sponsored but I did receive the watercolor for free to review. Pros: Nice color selection Colors activate quickly Colors are vibrant Comes with a medium size water brush and 1/4" flat synthetic brush and swatch card Cons: Tin is flimsy and arrived dented The plastic insert is thin and will likely crack eventually Paint has grainy silt-like sediment in several colors Paint becomes chalky and muddy when layered The quality of the flay brush is poor Poor flow (with the exception of reds) Bottom line: I do not recommend this palette or line of paints. Of the 3 lines of watercolor that Zen Art offers this is the lowest quality in my opinion. I think this is a white-labeled version of Semi-art as these are so similar to Atristro watercolors which I gave away as soon as I reviewed them. This palette runs $17-$23 and I think you can get a much nicer paint at that price and I word recommend any of the "fan style" palettes or Meilang Pretty Excellent watercolors to get a higher quality paint that won't harm your learning of watercolor at the same price. Or if you wanted to try a Zen Art palette go for the Nomad travel set, that is a great value.
