Floyd Rose: Redmond Model 5 Guitar - demo

At the time of writing (July 2014) the Floyd Rose USA Redmond Series guitars have not been in production for at least seven or eight years (to my knowledge). That's a shame because they rip! I bought four of them in different configurations some years ago when they were out of fashion and I still own and cherish three of them. My favourite is this one, a very early (pre production?) Model 5, built in the USA and designed for shredding. The Model 5 houses Floyd's hottest humbuckers in it along with a super-fast maple neck and fingerboard. The Floyd Rose Speedloader tremolo system (featured on all models) would be flawless were it not for one thing: the strings haven't been available for years. I believe that situation is going to be rectified in August, 2014, and I should bloody well hope so! It's been way too long ... Fortunately I could see the drought coming a few years back so I bought up boxes of the strings, but they're starting to blemish now. Anyway, back to the guitar ... The USA Redmond Series originally ran at around 3.5K list or thereabouts. They're worth that asking price, for sure. However, they can now be found on eBay and similar for the bargain price of 1-2K if you keep your eyes open and that's mostly because of the elusive strings and the bare-naked headstock which tends to weird some people out. So go grab a bargain before the strings hit the market again and the price of these guitars climbs back to where I believe it ought to be. Rock!
