I’ve been a bike mechanic for years — built over 100 e-bikes, converted analog bikes, and ridden thousands of miles. In this video, I share my honest, long-term review of the Aventon Pace 500, a bike I bought back in 2019 for my wife. After 1,300+ miles and several repairs, I can say: I wouldn't recommend it. 🚲 The Good: Upright, relaxed geometry Clear LCD display Surprisingly comfortable stock saddle ⚠️ The Problems: Sudden and dangerous power delivery No fenders, lights, rack, or suspension — despite being marketed as a “comfort cruiser” Expensive and hard-to-find proprietary parts Power cuts out due to wiring failure Battery removal requires force — unacceptable for travel use Poor long-term support from Aventon and most bike shops 💸 If you’re not a mechanic, upgrading this bike will cost $500+ with labor. 🔧 I kept this bike around hoping to let friends try e-bikes — but with the current electrical issue, it’s not even reliable for a 10-minute ride. I created this review so you can learn from my mistakes, avoid hidden costs, and get into e-biking the right way. 💡 Subscribe to Ride eMTB for honest reviews, real repair advice, and bike recommendations based on real-world testing — not sales hype. 🔽 Timestamps: 0:00 Intro & Background 0:45 What Worked 2:20 Power Delivery Problems 3:10 Hidden Upgrade Costs 4:00 Battery Removal Hassles 4:30 Mechanical & Electrical Failures 5:45 Support and Service Issues 6:15 Final Thoughts & What’s Next 🔗 Related Videos & Tools Coming Soon… #Aventon, #Ebikes, #LongTermReview, #RideeMTB, #Pace500, #BikeMechanic, #ElectricBikeReview, #AventonProblems, #CadenceSensor, #EbikesForBeginners, #EbikeUpgrade
