Three "movements" of electronic music. Instruments: Yamaha CS-60, SCI Pro One, Dave Smith Rev2, Elka Rhapsody 490, Yamaha Reface CP, Korg Symphony-03, Ensoniq ESQ-1, Roland Juno 60, Roland XP-30, Boss DR-880, Alchemy VST. Recorded in Logic Pro X. Notes: My Yamaha CS-60 is out for repairs again. The night before the synth tech picked it up, I recorded the lead tracks for this work. I wanted to record one last thing before saying goodbye to my beloved synth for several weeks. I improvised the lead tracks in one night, then recorded backing tracks over the following week (after the CS-60 was gone, which is why you only hear it in the leads.) Hopefully my ancient CS-60 will be back soon, and in better health. It has been having problems for months. When I recorded this, it was completely abstract. I was not thinking about animals, ancient art, or skulls. But I wanted to add visuals that created an experience, instead of just a static title card for the duration of this long piece. So, after the fact, I thought about what the music might represent, and looked at the stock photography that was available through subscriptions I have. And so I came up with what you see, which takes you through three worlds, or perspectives. It's not "what the music means." It's just one interpretation to make the YouTube experience more interesting.
