Willem Malten, Kanseki Productions, Santa Fe, NM, director and filmmaker, made this movie in 1999/2004. A review by Godfrey Reggio: "In a fusion of word, image, and music, this film gives poetic utterance to an unspeakable event -- civilized violence." The setting is Los Alamos, NM and follows a group of NM residents and Japanese visitors on an "inspection" tour of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The group is comprised of hundreds of local residents, but also includes a visiting group of Hibakusha, survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Martin Sheen will be familiar to many as he is a central person in the demonstration and subsequent "arrest" of many who cross the line of no admittance on the LANL property. This film takes us on a tour of LANL before many of the roads and areas were closed to the public. A very interesting look at some of the areas inside LANL. Featuring: Martin Sheen, Greg Mello, Helen Caldicott, Hibakusha, Corbin Harney, Ed Grothus, Robert Oppenheimer, Amy Goodman, Peggy Prince, Bruce Hall, Jane Tallents, Lysianne Alezard, Zia Mian, and Gilbert Sanchez.
