The Parliamentary Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs is yet to clear the rationalization bills brought to its table after the certificate of implication issued by the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development was found wanting. A team led by the Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka asked for more time to verify the certificate before the scrutiny of the bills could proceed. The MPs wanted to understand the cost implication in case the merger of the agencies succeeds including the costs for compensation for some of the affected staffs.
