Perrygrove Railway Vintage Trains Day. 26th August 2012 Thanks You Tube for not offering me a thumbnail that even showed a train at all! The busiest day in the railways history....so far! 19 trains were scheduled, but with passengers streaming in, 28 trains were run, mainly full until the last hour or so, so we mainly watched until near the end. Replica Heywood 0-6-0T "Ursula" on vintage stock initially, until increased capacity was needed, so ordinary stock used later on instead; and Exmoor 0-6-0T "Spirit of Adventure" on service trains. 20 minute interval service (which was abandoned and trains ran as soon as they were ready), passing at Rookwood. Seen from various stations, lineside and footplate. Gradients as steep as 1 in 30, and sharp bends make it quite a challenging route. Oh, and the sun shone again, so not a stout mackintosh in sight!
