What Kind of Apartment Can You Get in PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA? (It's cheaper than your utilities bill!)

In this video I take you on an apartment tour to see 6 different apartments priced from $300 to $400 USD per month in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Phnom Penh is Cambodia's largest city and has many places to live at many price points. I chose to concentrate at this price range due to it's relative low cost compared to western developed countries such as the US. This area is also more expat friendly and would be considered in the center or near the center of Phnom Penh. I could have looked at higher end apartments around $1,000 USD/month but this channel is really about living well at much lower cost. With the high cost of living in many cities in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and parts of Europe, Phnom Penh really offers great value. These are just a few apartments and prices obviously vary depending on the location, amenities, your exchange rate, etc. By far, the most effective way to find apartments in Cambodia or Southeast Asia in general is to join a Facebook (FB) group for apartments. Just search in FB by typing "For Rent" and the name of the city. For example, do a FB "For Rent Phnom Penh" or "For Rent Ho Chi Minh" search and these groups will pop up for you to join. Or search in that country's language. For example, you can type "for rent" in Google translate and chose the Khmer language to find the word(s). This would be សម្រាប់ជួល in Khmer. Cut and paste it in FB search bar and just type in the city like Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. Several different groups will pop up including one in Phnom Penh with over 5000 members for apartments. FB also has a translation option so even if the rental posting is in Khmer, just click a button to read it in English. But the main reason to search on FB groups is to find current listings at current prices. See what you like and contact the agent posting it. It's a great way to see what's out there while still in your home country but I wouldn't recommend contacting any agent until you're actually in Cambodia. Joining other FB expat groups can also help in your search for apartments, dentists, best pizza, best sports bar or anything else. So the link is actually to Cafe Amazon that is located across the street from the alley where the apartment building is located. It's a fantastic location with cafes, restaurants, the Wat Botum Park and river all fairly nearby. It had an amazing view from the rooftop pool.
