The Thermo Bob is a modification to the bike's cooling system. Or maybe it's better to refer to it as an improvement or a correction to a known shortcoming. The EX-250 is a bit on the "cold-blooded" side as are several other Kawasaki models. The way Kawasaki configured these bikes' cooling systems is the cause of this condition. The Thermo Bob helps the bike run a bit warmer and also makes the bike reach normal operating temperature much more quickly. The new, slightly warmer operating temperature is better for the engine's effeciency and the partial redirection of coolant flow equalizes temperatures throughout the engine. But while the Thermo Bob makes the bike run warmer, the cooling system still functions as it always did and won't let it overheat.
