Welcome to a world of luxury and history! In this video, we take a walk through the magnificent Rastatt Palace and admire its lavish halls, preserved from the era of the Margraves of Baden-Baden. This palace was built in the early 18th century for Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden, the legendary "Turkish Louis," feared by the Ottoman Empire. Its opulent interiors, grand architecture, and the aura of a bygone era make it one of the most stunning palaces in Baden-Württemberg. Once a place of lavish balls and political negotiations, today it immerses visitors in the past, preserving the spirit of the Baroque era. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ A Day in Rastatt Palace During Its Prime (Early 18th Century) Life in the palace followed a strict schedule, reflecting the refined customs of the Baroque court. Morning 🌞 6:00 – 7:00 AM – Awakening Servants rose early to prepare the audience hall, light fireplaces, and bring fresh water. The Margrave or Margravine woke up with the soft chime of the clock or the first rays of sunlight. 👑 7:00 – 8:00 AM – Morning Ritual Noble residents performed their morning toilette, washing with rose or lavender water and dressing with the help of attendants. This was also a time to discuss court matters. 🥐 8:00 – 9:00 AM – Breakfast A light meal of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea with bread, butter, and jams was served in private chambers or a small dining room. 📜 9:00 – 11:00 AM – State Affairs The Margrave spent the morning attending to government matters, meeting ministers, military advisors, and diplomats in the library or audience chamber.
