Giovanni Mazzei Esilio (OFFICIAL VIDEO) Dopo una citazione brahmsiana (Intermezzo op.116, n.2) di apertura, il brano si snoda su tre sezioni più una ripresa. Armonicamente prevale il gusto modale (modo dorico). Esilio rappresenta un (non) luogo dell’anima, la ricerca di qualcosa che non c’è e, allo stesso tempo, l’isolamento che accompagna la ricerca. Il video, altresì, offre scorci interpretativi ambivalenti, in cui oggetto e soggetto della ricerca divengono intercambiabili, laddove non è più l'umanità a cercare la musica, ma è la musica che, avvolta nell'assordante silenzio, tenta, con le poche forze residue, di mandare il suo "message in a bottle" all'umanità. Giovanni Luca Mazzei, pianista crossover di estrazione classica, si dedica sia all’interpretazione pianistica sia alla composizione. Pone la conoscenza e l’approfondimento alla base della sua attività di interprete e di compositore. La curiosità per le diverse declinazioni della musica è il motore primo del suo percorso formativo che lo ha portato dapprima a diplomarsi brillantemente al Conservatorio di Milano e successivamente a conseguire, con il massimo dei voti, il diploma accademico di primo livello in Pianoforte Jazz presso i Civici Corsi jazz di Milano. Leader del G.A.M.E. Quartet, nel 2015 registra la Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio di Claude Bolling, riassumendo le esperienze fino a quel momento maturate. “Curioso e sperimentale”, dice di sé, ama la ricerca di sonorità pianistiche autentiche, frutto di una sintesi tra sensibilità e background personali.
