We bought a 35' gleaner draper head two years ago and had nothing but trouble with it. It would not cut short beans, beans podded normal or low to the ground, or down beans. So pretty much only good standing beans podded at least 5" off the ground. Not only this but to try and compensate for this problem we had to adjust the combine in such a way that it would plug the throat of the combine way to easy. Some local farmers told us we need low ride skid plates and after nearly two years of trying to convince our dealer to get them we finally explained to him it was not an option. Agco tried to tell us something else was the problem and everything they tried failed. We finally got the plates put on with about 40 acres left this year and it worked awesome. So if you get a draper for beans in IL or surrounding states, make sure you ask about the skid plates.
