After the protests over the Supreme court ruling on stray dogs, the Supreme court has modified its earlier ruling.. of shifting all the dogs to permanent shelters. In its latest judgement, the Supreme Court has allowed dogs to be released back into their original areas after sterilisation, vaccination, and health checks—except for those with rabies or showing aggressive behaviour. The Court also clarified that no one can obstruct municipal authorities under the ABC rules. Public feeding of stray dogs on streets will not be allowed anymore, and instead, dedicated feeding zones will be created in every ward to address safety concerns. Importantly, the order now extends across India. The Court has asked all the states and Union Territories to respond on this matter for framing a national policy.
