Gardening advice can sometimes be overwhelming and not always that practical or useful. An oft-repeated tip I’ve heard since starting the hobby is to start new seeds by germinating them on a wet paper towel & once they sprout move them into a soil container. I’ve done this at various times and yes, it worked out, but I got to wondering: why should we add an extra step to this process? Is it even helpful vs. planting directly to soil, and if so in what ways? Not to mention: do I risk damaging my young plants at a fragile stage and creating more work for myself? In this video I put the paper towel ‘garden hack’ to the test and answer those questions by comparing 3 varieties of plants started both on paper towel and directly, showing the results over the following weeks. #gardening #homestead #seeds Intro: 0:00 How to do the paper towel method: 1:14 Plant Comparisons: 3:17 Lessons Learned: 5:02 Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/jeff-kaale/moonlit License code: Q5MUACZT5JYTGW13
