Jhalawar School Collapse: Roof Caves In On Students, Many Feared Trapped | India Today News

A government higher primary school building's roof has collapsed in Piplodi village, located in the Manohar Police Station area of Rajasthan's Jhalawar district. The incident occurred in the morning as students were in their classes, burying a number of them under the rubble. While official casualty numbers are awaited, the transcript notes, "there are children who have gotten trapped under the debris of this collapsed roof and each minute at this given point counts." Locals were the first to respond, initiating rescue efforts before official teams were dispatched to the location. The building was reportedly in a dilapidated condition, a concern that had been raised previously, especially in light of heavy rains in the region.
