This video contains two French Apache dance scenes from early silent films. The first is from "La tournée des grands ducs" (1910), danced by Polaire. The film has the same plot as a sketch she performed at the Moulin Rouge in 1909. The second is from "Les Vampires" (1915); the dancers are not identified. This has been uploaded by others, but the video frame rates were too fast; here it has been slowed to approach a more normal speed. The background music was composed by Fernand Le Borne for the 1908 film "L'Empreinte ou la main rouge", one of the earliest films to have a special music score composed. The fourth scene in that film is "Valse Apache", in which Mistinguett and Max Dearly perform their Apache Dance. That is the music heard on the video.
