A brief tour of my place in Korea! Altough I call it goshiwon, the place where I live is actually denominated a livingtel. In my understanding a goshiwon is where the rooms have no shower or toilet inside the rooms but only shared ones in the hall, a oneroomtel is where the rooms have shower room and toilet inside the room and a goshitel or a livingtel is where there are both types of rooms to choose from (at different prices of course) This is the website of the place I stayed in http://www.sk.cocolivingtel.com/ Goshiwon, oneroomtel, goshitel or livingtel all go by monthly rent and usually just a small deposit as low as $20 is required. You can pay monthly or all at once. Paying all at once usually gets you a discount, but also prevents you from moving out after a month or two. My goshiwon offers free rice, kimchi, eggs, cooking oil, soap and detergent. There is no curfew but visitors are not allowed after 10pm. It is a co-ed livingtel but the 2nd floor is girls only and the 3floor boys only. Prices for goshiwons and the likes go from $200 to up to $700 depending on many factors as location, size and condition of the room, whether it has a bath room or not, and other amenities offered. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer!
