Today's video is a complete lesson on sizing electrical cables according to the NBR-5410 tables! So if you still have questions about this subject, stay tuned because I'll show you important details! The first thing you'll think about is, what is the minimum cable to connect an outlet? This answer will be in table 47 of NBR-5410: The table says the following: Lighting circuits - minimum cable of 1.5mm² Power circuits (sockets) - minimum cable of 2.5mm² This table is just a basis so that no one starts installing cables that are too thin for circuits with a current greater than what the cable supports. It already determines that for lighting, less than 1.5mm² is not allowed, and for sockets (power circuits) less than 2.5mm² is also not allowed! To start sizing correctly in this case, we must be concerned with FIVE POINTS! 1 - What is the current of the oven circuit? 2 - How will the cables be installed? 3 - Number of cables per circuit 4 - What type of insulation will the cable have? 5 - How many cables will pass through the same conduit? As a good electrical professional, you don't want to swim, swim and die on the beach, right? There is no point in worrying about all these criteria in the standard and then choosing a poor quality brand when buying the cable. I have already made several videos here on the channel showing the pirated and unshielded cables on the market and I have also presented the risks they pose. This class is brought to you by NAMBEI Fios e Cabos, a partner here at Engehall. We used NAMBEI FLEX 4MM² 750V cables as a reference for the sizing done in this video. I would also like to invite you to visit the NAMBEI website and download the cable sizing tables that I am making available right below in the description of this video!
