Attractions Biltbuck Lot 269 Engineer Boots, full resole, liner removal & new footbeds!!

This pair of BILTBUCK Lot 269 Engineer Boots in Black Steerhide were sent in for a full resole including new welts. The original welts had detached from the uppers and the wearer had mentioned the lining had bunched up around the toe area causing some discomfort. Once work started on these it quickly became clear they were going to need a fair amount more work than first anticipated, the liner had completely disintegrated and the footbeds were cracked. In order to replace a liner that badly damaged I would need the last the boots were made on, that was not a possibility…….. so it was decided to remove the remaining threads of liner completely to avoid any more discomfort. It’s never ideal to replace the footbeds and should only really be done if the originals are damaged or you have acquired some boots secondhand and want a new footbed for comfort purposes. Worth noting on these was the single thin layer of foam as cushioning inside the cavity…. this was replaced with cork. Overall these boots were in pretty bad shape internally but are now as good as new, with an incredible level of patina on the outside these will be one of kind.
