Abandoned resort & spa. The Corran Resort & Spa, ( formerly the Hurst House Hotel) located in Laugharne, Wales, has faced significant challenges in recent years. The resort has experienced multiple financial difficulties, leading to its closure. In 2020, the resort collapsed financially, marking another instance of its ongoing struggles. In mid-2024, reports emerged of squatters occupying the abandoned property, leading to disturbances in the local community. As of April 2025, the resort remains closed and is not operational.Squatters still occupy parts of the resort and were present during this explore. Neil Morrissey, the actor known for his role in “Men Behaving Badly,” acquired several properties in Laugharne, Wales, in April 2004, including the Hurst House Hotel, the New Three Mariners pub, and Brown’s Hotel, for £670,000. His involvement with the Hurst House Hotel continued until July 2008, when the assets of the Hurst House group entered administration due to construction delays on a related project.
