From October 13-24, 2015, the Hidden Pines Fire ravaged Bastrop County, Texas, destroying 64 homes and scorching 4,582 acres. On October 2, 2015, Embrace Relief, in collaboration with the Raindrop Foundation and the Texas Turkic American Chamber of Commerce, organized a fundraising dinner to support those affected by the fire. The event was graced by notable attendees such as Glenn Hegar, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and Paul Pape, Bastrop County Judge. During the reception and dinner, Embrace Relief successfully raised $51,000! The fundraising event was held at the Austin branch of the Raindrop Foundation. The funds were donated to the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team (BCLRT) to aid in building houses for families who lost their homes. Christine Files, Board President of BCLRT, remarked, “Your presence here tonight signifies your commitment to the community and your commitment to being good neighbors, and this is very important to all of us.”
