Tour of the elevators - what a variety! OTIS, Schindler, a nice generic elevator and one without inner doors - included in a very nice posh hotel. A wonderful elevator dream! The 5-star NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is located at the Dam in Amsterdam. This Hotel is very old and it has been expanded soon. Today, this hotel is very big and a maze of ultra long corridors. It was an awesome experience to walk through all those posh corridors wile its dark outside. Elevators (9): 0:00 Introduction 0:20 Guest elevators 1 - set of two 1:38 Service elevator A 3:42 Service elevator B - manual doors 5:20 Guest elevator 2 7:15 Guest elevator 3 8:49 Guest elevator 4 10:24 Guest elevators 5 - set of two I went into this hotel in the late evening. It was dark outside, the corridor illumination was very chilled. The wooden elements and the carpets plus the chilled lights were a really nice experience. Elevator enthusiasts would really like this hotel. But there is also a disadvantage: All elevators got new inner fixtures! These are generic and boring. It would be better to have the original ones! Preservation worthiness: 06/10 (-4 because of buttons inside replaced) Transport efficiency: 10/10 Service elevator efficiency: 8/10 (-2 because one service lift is placed right at the entrance and people can be confused and use it)
