The correct phrase is "BVR" or Beyond visual range. 1:05:28: I guess it would be wrong to say /all/ long-wavelength radar cannot penetrate clouds, some frequencies of long-wavelength radar are better at penetrating clouds than other radar frequencies. S and C band frequencies are very good at penetrating clouds and are used primarily as weather radar.
