Gopu's lecture 'அதிமானம் அதி அற்புதம்' will be about the Kailasanathar temple of Kanchipuram. Gopu Rangarathnam is a technical historian with interests spanning a wide spectrum – engineering, software, astronomy, economics, history, art, heritage. A Masters graduate in Computer Science from the Texas A&M University, USA, Gopu worked for six years in the U.S in software development. But his restless mind got bored, and he returned to India around 2000. He has since indulged in the luxury of doing just what he likes doing – including attempting novels, short stories and movie scripts, traveling to heritage sites across India, blogging, reading and lecturing on various topics. Tamil Heritage Trust welcomes you to Pechchu Kachcheri 2017 - Celebrating Art along with Music "Kanchi Mahaamani" A glimplse of Kanchipuram-its glorious history, great kings and artists. Every December when music is celebrated in Chennai, Thousands of artists perform in hundreds of sabhas. We, Tamil Heritage Trust, believe that there is more to celebrate in our heritage besides music, and want these rasikas to spend a few hours on other aspects of our heritage, literature, paintings, sculpture, temples etc. In this sixth year, we focus on great temple city of Kanchipuram. Two full-days - series of lectures - by Dr R Nagaswamy, Dr K Dayanidhi, Mr. Shyam C Raman, Dr S Balusamy, Dr Chitra Madhavan, Mr Gopu Rangarathnam, Prof. Madhusudhanan Kalaivchelvan & Ms Sreemathy Mohan, Topics cover - Kanchi in Indian History, Ilakiyathil Kanchi, Shaivism in Kanchi, Vaishnavism in Kanchi, Vaikuntha Perumal temple, Kailasanatha Temple, Tiruparuthikundram and Jainism, Textiles of Kanchi ...
