About 160 computers have been donated to Kasese District by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, through NITA Uganda, to ease office duties and enhance ICT skills. The computers include laptops and desktops with accessories given to lower local government offices, town councils, sub-counties, and institutions. Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga Kiime Baluko, State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, said the donation was sent through President Museveni. He urged the public to appreciate government services. The government, through the ministry, is working on Uganda's telecom restoration to reduce internet data costs and improve network coverage in every parish. Mr. Kasagara Edward, Kasese District CAO, thanked the ministry and urged beneficiaries to safeguard the computers. Arnold Mangeni, NITA Uganda's Director for Information Security, encouraged proper use. Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa, MP for Busongora North, warned against selling the equipment. Beneficiaries praised the ministry's donation. The government of Uganda, through the ministry, is working to improve communication networks and provide tools to individuals and institutions to ease duties, boost skills, and facilitate businesses through digitization.
