Against the Odds: Voices from the Female Teacher Mentorship Program

At NRT, we believe that improving access to quality education and offering mentorship opportunities empowers young people—especially girls—to shape brighter, more resilient futures. In 2021, we established the Female Teacher Mentorship Programme, around a clear goal: to increase girls' enrolment, reduce dropout rates, and support their transition through various education levels. We have implemented this initiative in 23 schools across the NRT landscape, with funding support from Conservation International and the AKO Foundation. The programme has helped increase the number of girls enrolled in these schools—from 2,087 in 2021 to 2,593 in 2024.
