[온포인트] '美관세 원상복구' 총력전 이번엔 외교 수장이 갔다 So, South Korea's top trade negotiator is now back in Seoul after trade talks with the U.S., but tariff concerns remain. As Seoul works to resolve tariff hike threats from the United States, top diplomats of South Korea and the U.S. also met in Washington, D.C. to address security and trade issues. For more, we're joined today by Andrew Millard, Assistant Professor of International Relations at Changwon National University. 1. South Korean Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo has returned home, but is facing criticism that he came back empty-handed. And tariff issues were also discussed when South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Hyun met his U.S. counterpart Marco Rubio in Washington on Tuesday. How do you think the tariff negotiations will play out? 2. While the Trump administration blames Seoul's legislature for not implementing a deal struck last year, some analysts say other factors may be at play, such as investigations involving Coupang, or the parliament's push to pass the Online Platform Act. What are your thoughts on this? 3. Beyond trade issues, the foreign ministers of Seoul and Washington also talked about ways to implement agreements outlined in the joint fact sheet signed by Presidents Lee and Trump late last year. Can we expect the two sides to speed up cooperation on projects such as building nuclear-powered submarines? 4. The State Department said the two officials also discussed the denuclearization of North Korea and highlighted the importance of trilateral cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan. There are concerns that the Trump administration's focus is shifting away from North Korea and more toward homeland security. What's your take on this? Alright, Professor Millard. Thank you so much for your time this morning. We appreciate it.
