45596 'Bahamas' on the fast with the 'Blackpool Illuminations Express' 16/11/24

Very much feeling the autumn blues at the moment, but it was good to be back out with the camera again for some local steam this weekend, in the form of Jubilee 45596 'Bahamas' back out on mainline duties for only the second time this year. Running under the jurisdiction of Vintage Trains, 45596 was at the head of their trip from Birmingham to Blackpool via Nuneaton for the Illumination of the seaside towns famous Christmas Lights. Unusually the tour ran diesel first across from Birmingham to Nuneaton to join the WCML, then resume with steam after reversing. 0:00 47773 into Nuneaton 1:25 45596 heading North 3:28 45596 - Atherstone Firstly we see 47773 drawing the tour into Nuneaton, before the Jub restarts after picking up passengers and heads north using the north cord to join the WCML. Upon return, we see the Jub at full flight through Atherstone, again unusually routed on the Up Fast (not a common sight along the Trent Valley nower days).
