A video featuring scenes from the first week of the 2011 season for 'The Jacobite' operated by West Coast Railways. The video was filmed between Monday 16th. and Friday 20th.May, often in wet and windy weather. The crew handled the locomotive superbly in such difficult conditions on the steep and winding route to Mallaig. The loco and stock were turned out in superb condition, a credit to the loco owner and West Coast Railways. Locations used on the outward run were; Fort William, Lochy Viaduct, Corpach, Loch Eil, Drumsallie, Glenfinnan Viaduct and two views of the departure from Glenfinnan, Arienskill (with dubbed sound as my high perch in a howling gale meant no decent sound could be recorded), Polnish, Beasdale Tunnels, Beasdale Station, approaching Morar and Morar Station. On the return the train is seen departing Mallaig, Lochan Doilead, Loch Non Uamh Viaduct, Loch Dubh, Loch Eilt/Ranochan, approaching Glenfinnan summit and Banavie Swing Bridge. Thanks to all involved with the operation of 'The Jacobite' and to Simon (SteamingYorkshire) and Warren (desdemona77) for help with locations. Apologies for the sound being a little more to the left channel, I was trying a new camera and I think the microphone socket is faulty
